Critical Conversation with Tiffani McCoy Advocacy Director for Real Change and Campaign Co-chair for House Our Neighbors!
Seattle is on a trajectory to become a city that is only affordable to those with generational wealth or middle to high six figure salaries. Even though we have made important investments in affordable housing, we must implement a housing model that isn't reliant on the federal government to meet our housing needs. Every year where we aren't building enough deeply affordable housing to meet our needs, is another year where more of our neighbors enter homelessness, and where more Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities are priced out of our city. Imagine a Seattle that can house all our neighbors in a collective effort. We can do it with social housing and Initiative 135.
