Student guide to Open Educational Resources (OER): How to find OER courses @ SCC

This guide focuses on open educational resources (OER) for Seattle Central students and how to find, use, and cite openly licensed information materials.

How to search for OER and low-cost courses in the SCC Class Schedule

Step 1: Start at the Seattle Central Website

Step 2: Click on the search icon, then select "Class Schedule"

Step 3: Select your quarter, and then click the "Course Attribute" drop-down menu. Select one or both the Class Search options for "Low-Cost Textbooks" and "OER: No Textbook to Purchase" and click the Search button

This will generate a list of every class that is using low-cost or OER textbooks. You can also choose a Subject area to narrow down your OER or low-cost course options by Subject.

Step 5: View the Class Attributes and Class Info under each class section to learn more about the Low-Cost or OER textbooks
