From their website: "or over 80 years, the Filipino Community of Seattle has been a galvanizing force and a cultural touchstone for thousands of Filipinx Americans and other immigrants throughout our community. We were born out of a time of great racial strife and segregation; when people of color were barred from owning property in many portions of Seattle; a time when communities of color turned to each other for social, cultural and civic support. Over the years, we have helped to shape and enrich the Greater Seattle community we know today, and to provide leadership on many issues of civil rights, social justice, and culturally appropriate and relevant response to basic needs. We are especially proud to be one of our community’s longest-standing, most impactful, people of color-led organizations, and one of the first Filipinx organizations in the nation."

Akbayan Youth, a democratic socialist youth and students formation, works for the realization of good governance and transformative politics. Through dynamic, critical, vigilant, and solution-oriented brand of progressive activism, Akbayan Youth aims to contribute in catalyzing social change.

Akbayan Youth is the youth wing of Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party.

To date, Akbayan is the most vigorous and determined effort from the Philippine progressive community to break the hold of traditional politicians and political parties on Philippine politics.

From the website: "Generation Peace is a network of organizations and individuals engaging a youth-led advocacy towards a just and sustainable peace. Its inception can be traced back to the Waging Peace Conference 2005 where a proposal was made to gather the next generation to continue the work of building a society grounded on the culture of peace.

We are a network of youth-led and youth-focused organizations striving for peace in the Philippines. We cater to the young generation because the youth is the largest stakeholder for peace and a powerful force in making vital social changes."
