Description: Did you know that some SCC students reside in the Monroe Correctional Complex while getting their AA degrees? If we say that education is a basic human right, then this also applies to those who are in prison. What is prison education and what are its effects on recidivism? Join Dr. Kayleen Oka (SCC sociology instructor and University Beyond Bars board member) and Dr. Krystle Balhan (SCC psychology instructor and UBB volunteer) for a lively conversation about the potential for higher education to make a difference in prison and in the way we see criminal justice reform.
