Controversy and Opinion: S.I.F.T. Method

Pro/Con, commentary, controversy, opinion, and issues.

The S.I.F.T. Method

Determining "good" information from "bad" is not always easy! Consider the S.I.F.T. Method as a way to think about the information.

SIFT stands for:

  • Stop.
  • Investigate the source.
  • Find better or other sources.
  • Trace back to the original source to see quotes in their original context.

The idea of SIFT comes from Mike Caulfield and is reused here under a Creative Commons license.
