The Promise and Perils of Social Media

Searching the Catalog by Author or Title

  • Connect to the library’s web site at https://seattlecentral.edu/library
  • Select the Library Catalog link from the "Find" section of the blue menu on the left.
  • Select "Articles & eResources" if you are searching for an article. Don't change the menu from Library Catalog if you are looking for a book.
  • Enter either the title or author name(s) in the box.
  • Select "Available online" in the left menu if you cannot pick up a print book from the college library and then click "Apply filters."
  • Look over the results.  If there is a match, click the title link to see more information.
  • Scroll through to find the item's Location.  If it’s only available online, write down the database listed under Full Text Availability. If it's available in print, write that down.
  • Look over the book’s Subject(s), Description, and Contents for a preview of what you’ll be reading.
  • Use the Permalink to save the book link if you're working digitally.
